On, Thursday the 7th of February, year 8 Flegg High school football team took on opponents Caister in the Gt Yarmouth cup.

t was a very tense first ten minutes, with the ball travelling from one end of the pitch to the other. Flegg, then started to work well as a team with more of the play coming down the right hand side, but most crosses were denied by Caister’s left back. Ben managed to make one good cross that Will tapped in, however it was ruled out by offside. Fortunately for Flegg, after around 20 minutes, Arron was able to cross the ball onto Will, who flicked it over the keeper with his head. After that there were a few chances for Flegg that were not put away.

Flegg started the second half shaky, but given the time to settle, Joel scored a stunner from just inside the 18 yard box. Caister soon switched off giving Joel plenty of room to score another well taken goal, this time from about 20 yards. The match looked over but both teams were still battling hard. Though, due to an unlucky mistake from the goalie, Ben was through on goal and was able to finish easily. It started to seem that every shot for Flegg went in. Adam even had his chance to shine when he scored superb goal in the top right hand corner. Harvey finished the game with an easy tap in to secure the 6-0 win.

It was a good win for the year 8’s giving them confidence for the next game in the Gt Yarmouth cup and to hopefully go on and win it.
