The trip has arisen through the close, international links held within the PE Department. The trip is organised as an exchange, with the Polish visiting England during the Flegg High School International Sports and Performing Arts Festival, a cultural event involving all the local community.

The visit takes place during the February half term holiday. This year, for the first time the party travelled by aeroplane, removing the gruelling 30 hour coach journey experienced in previous years. The pupils congregate at the school and are transported by coach to Heathrow Airport. The plane flies them into Prague, where the party spend the weekend before being picked up and taken on a six hour coach journey to their accommodation in Rabka.

For the duration of the week, the pupils are closely supervised with staff available 24 hours a day if any problems happen to arise. Pupils are encouraged to approach staff if they do experience any problems, however minor. A friendly Polish translator meets the party in Poland and accompanies the party at all times to offer support throughout the visit.
