Flegg High School holds an annual sports day during the last week of the summer term. This event involves all the 720 pupils on roll, whether they are participating or spectating. During the day, pupils take part in a number of athletic activities, including shot, discus, sprinting and a whole host of others.

During the day the emphasis has been placed on team work, leadership, sports promotion and physical well being through active participation. All the pupils play a part, both physically and theoretically. Pupils are given the task of organising their teams, as a result of PE lessons, pupils choose those stronger in certain activities as their house representative(s) in the required sport.
